Away with hunger, creeping in the middle of day
harassing my senses and deluding me with shame.
Blameless as the sun, melting the heart
and warming the green.
I look upon the hopes and prayers encircling
hallowed space, a void in time, a precipice in a torn sky.
I can hear the emptiness, shining from dawn
I can see the howls, rising after a setting sun.
Thirty days and nights, before I believe.
No gates to heaven, no guards on the watch
Reach out for him/her/it gazing in the mirror on no-time
to see my face, smiling in awe and wonder.
Bursting into being, in a roaring silence…
